Working with and Applying to Trusts and Foundations
6, August 2008 - Jurys Inn, City Centre, Birmingham

There are almost 9,000 different UK Trusts & Foundations giving over £2bn each year to community projects and charitable causes. With traditional sources of funding (e.g. ESF) flowing towards Central & Eastern Europe, this one-day WorkShop will help your organisation prepare to exploit a significant area of new funding.

The aim of this WorkShop is to familiarise organisations with the major Trusts & Foundations and the types of activity they seek to support.  Through a combination of presentations, group discussions and exercises, delegates will leave with a better knowledge of the key funders, as well as how to prepare a letter of application or formal proposal. Using his experience as a bid writer and assessor, the facilitator will offer important tips on how to make your application stand out from the crowd.

The WorkShop will cover:

* The history of grantmaking by Trusts & Foundations
* Which funders offer the highest chances of success
* Developing an idea and identifying appropriate funders
* Structuring an application and what to include
* Tips for making presentations to assessment panels
* Sources of information and further help
