Radio Interview with Brian Carr
BVSC's Chief Executive, Brian Carr, was interviewed on 19 July by BCC Radio WM's Steve Dyson live from the newly-refurbished MAC at this week's Be Birmingham Summit, alongside Jackie Mould (Director of Be Birmingham). The summit focused on the city's drive to refresh its Sustainable Community Strategy in the context of ongoing public spending cuts, and Brian and Jackie were asked, amongst other things, about the role of volunteering in the government's vision for the 'Big Society':
Community Cohesion Football Tournament
Birmingham Settlement in partnership with Games 4 All ltd are hosting a Five A-side Football Tournament through the West Midlands Police (Building Blocks Fund).
European volunteering opportunities
These European volunteering opportunities with the German, Spanish and French Red Cross are funded to enable young people to take part who may normally not able to afford to. The lower age limits are 18 for Germany and 20 for France and Spain, and the application deadlines 25 July for Germany and 1 August for France and Spain.
