- Jan Channer, Service Manager of the Ladywood Family Centre, Action For Children, is VCS Matters Representative on the Children and Young People’s Trust Integrated Assessment Workstream Steering Group (This group provides a lead role within respective agencies ensuring that the Common Assessment Framework [CAF] is promoted and understood.)
Profiles are attached below and both reps can be reached via VCS Matters at vcsmatters@bvsc.org - If you have any questions about representation, please contact Len McDonald on 0121-678 8884 or email leonardm@bvsc.org

You too could be a VCS Matters Rep!
Have you ever thought about being a Representative but felt you did not have the skills or the time?
VCS Matters brings together voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to ensure that the VCS in Birmingham is in a position to play a full and integral part in the design, delivery and evaluation of more effective children and young people’s services in the city.
There are opportunities to become VCS Matters Representatives, open to anyone with interest, commitment and appropriate skills and insight. You do not have to have previous representative experience – as VCS Matters Vice-Chair Claire Rigby describes on page 15 of the November 'Update' magazine -this could be a new beginning. Also, you will be offered support and training.
We are looking for individuals who can:
1. act as a conduit by taking issues of concern to the partnership & feeding back to the sector
2. influence decisions by challenging and supporting proposals actively
3. support the development of the partnership and
4. stand up for the sector.
Not sure if you can do it? Don’t worry. You won’t be on your own. We have an excellent training package and a new and improved support structure for our representatives. VCS Matters will cover out of pocket expenses.
If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Len McDonald on 0121-678 8884 or email leonardm@bvsc.org
