The following alphabetical glossary gives links to definitions, general briefings, background information and summaries of commonly used terms and concepts.  Definitions are followed in brackets by the abbreviated source (eg BCYPP for the Birmingham Children and Young People's Plan 2008-2011).  A glossary of general Every Child Matters terms is at http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/everychildmatters/_glossary/
