The course aims to teach participants basic aspects of dealing with emergencies, with an emphasis on those occurring in the workplace. Local statistical information from the West Midlands also describes an over-representation of African people in HIV infection trends. Understanding Female Genital Mutilation

This half-day session introduces the issue of female genital mutilation (circumcision) which is prevalent in particular communities. Delivered in partnership with the Agency for Culture and Change Management, the session explores the personal, cultural and legal issues of this harmful practice, with an emphasis on the implications for women who may have experienced it and the development of appropriate practice for working with them.

Please note that registration is at 9.45 for a prompt 10.00am start. Lunch will be provided at 1.00pm; the session finishes by 2.00pm.
