B.STRONG course at Ladywood Arts & Leisure Centre aimed at those wanting to write a project or strategic plan for their organisation, particularly to those considering writing bids to grant giving bodies.

Participants will examine issues and processes involved in planning for their organisation. They will gain an understanding of why an organisation must have a mission, learn how to use analytical tools to examine their position in the voluntary sector market place, how to
conduct a feasibility study and what to include in the written format of the plan.

The third annual Children's Centre Celebration Day (Integration and Partnership Working) will celebrate the great achievements made during the past few years by enjoying a get-together in the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens.

Places are limited so it is important that you book early and before 9 June to avoid disappointment. There will be a presentation to all children's centres, cake cutting and caricature artist if you would like a portrait of yourself! .

In the UK this programme is managed by the British Council and the ConnectYouth Programme Team is supporting WMEN to provide advice to applicants in the West Midlands.

The morning session will include a mix of speeches and panel discussions from key third sector representatives.  The State of the Sector Report based on sector intelligence from Birmingham will be launched and you will hear how things look nationally from the Office of the Third Sector. The Assembly's position paper on worklessness, a result of two lively ‘hot lunch' debates held earlier in the year, will be debated by a cross-sectoral panel.
