Birmingham Settlement's Big Lottery, Basis - City Spirit Programme launch event takes place on 30 October.

City Spirit is a grassroots response to overcoming the issues and needs affecting the most excluded communities within the city of Birmingham. The project will work closely with limited number of BME front line organisations, providing on going and in-depth help and support to develop capacity building and infrastructure needs to continue delivering services and working directly with the most excluded communities within Birmingham's inner city wards. It will support the development of grassroots BME organisations and enhance their capacity to bring about meaningful change to communities affected by community safety and community cohesion issues.

This event will be of particular importance in promoting the City Spirit's aims and also the intention to support the local partner organisations.

Guest speakers will be giving an insight to their work and its benefits to the community
