Course dates: Tuesdays September 9, 16, 23 & 30; October 7, 14 & 21; November 4, 11, 18 & 25; December 2, 9 & 16; January 6 & 13 (12 taught sessions, 2 tutorials & 2
supported writing days)

Times:
First session 10:00am - 1:00pm
All follow up sessions 10:00am - 2:30pm

Ladywood Arts and Leisure Centre

Target Group: All Playworkers and Volunteers with regular contact with children in a play setting (Statutory, Voluntary and Private sectors)

This course includes:
• The value of play and its importance for children
• The principles, assumptions and values of playwork
• Your roles and responsibilities as a playworker
• Equality, diversity and inclusive practice
• Health and Safety and Safeguarding in the context of a play setting

This award is a nationally recognised Level 2 playwork qualification (achieved by successfully completing 2 written assignments).   Applicants must be able to complete 50 hours of playwork practice (in addition to taught sessions) over the duration of the course.
