DOOR STEP PLAY DENS

Dens of Equality have now delivered inclusive play sessions in twenty eight special and mainstream schools.  Dens of Equality has extended these play opportunities in the community by creating new playschemes and supporting local services to welcome children with additional needs. Since the Autumn Dens of Equality has been supporting Seven citywide family-led services to deliver inclusive play for children and young people in their local communities, prioritizing access for children and young people with high need.

Dens of Equality
• works to make Birmingham a more inclusive city where play, leisure & learning providers welcome ALL children & young people
• supports five family-led den building groups that run their own play services & help providers to welcome ALL children & young people with advice & resources
• local Dens can quickly & cost effectively make services accessible
• a grass roots Den-building model makes connections that create change
• Dens of Equality have raised over £3 million in bids with supported groups
• created over 30,000 inclusive play & leisure opportunities
• supported citywide inclusive projects working with over thirty groups
• will build a local den in each of Birmingham’s forty wards

A2EP Avenues to Equal Play is our outreach programme delivering play sessions in special & mainstream schools to raise the quality & profile of inclusive play & extend & sustain these positive experiences for children in their local communities.

Door Step Play Dens is funding fabulous inclusive local play days & supporting participating family-led groups with ALL the processes involved to outreach, recruit, train & deliver play sessions that put play for ALL on the doorstep

Wild about Outdoor Play led by the Parks for Play group will create a beautiful, natural, inclusive, adaptable play environment in a large enclosed nursery area in Kings Heath Park in Birmingham. It will be the first accessible parks play space in the city enabling all local children to enjoy stimulating & safe play in their community
